Diversified Industrials Expertise
FBR Capital Markets' Diversified Industrials Investment Banking and Research groups cover aerospace & defense, capital goods, electrical products, engineering & construction, environmental services, government IT, homeland security, industrial technologies, specialty contracting and staffing services.
In 2007, the Diversified Industrials group sole managed a $280 million private placement for a specialty marine construction contractor; co-managed a $131 million initial public offering for AeroVironment, Inc., the leading provider of small unmanned reconnaissance aircraft systems to the U.S. military; acted as advisor to Armor Holdings; and co-managed a $336 million follow-on equity offering for BE Aerospace, a manufacturer of cabin interior products for commercial aircraft and business jets. FBR Capital Markets also co-managed a $284 million follow-on offering for BE Aerospace in 2005.
Diversified industrials is an area in which research plays a critical role for our clients, and we offer what we believe to be the most comprehensive defense, aerospace, government IT and homeland security coverage in the industry. Most importantly, as a Washington, D.C. metropolitan area firm, FBR Capital Markets brings an on-the-ground perspective to its government-related research.
Additionally, FBR’s Washington Policy Analysis group provides a vital regulatory and legislative overlay to our company analysis – particularly in the homeland security, environmental services, defense and defense electronics industries. The businesses of companies in these industries tend to be impacted by shifts in federal policy and spending, and the Washington Policy group has valuable access to the thinking of those who help shape the legislative agenda.
