Our Team of Leaders

The FBR Capital Markets senior executive team includes a three-person Office of the Chairman: Board Member Eric F. Billings, who serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of both FBR Group and FBR Capital Markets, Board Member Richard J. Hendrix, President and Chief Operating Officer of FBR Capital Markets, and J. Rock Tonkel, Jr., President, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of FBR Group.

They are supported by a 30-member Operating Committee and a nine-person Executive Committee on which they also sit.  The other six members of the Executive Committee are:

  • Jonathan L. Billings, Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Brokerage
  • William J. Ginivan, Executive Vice President and General Counsel
  • Bradley J. Wright, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
  • James R. Kleeblatt, Executive Vice President and Group Head of Capital Markets
  • James C. Neuhauser, Executive Vice President and Head of Investment Banking
  • Paul Dell'Isola, Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets Sales

The Operating Committee is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of FBR Capital Markets’ operations while the Executive Committee is responsible for the development and execution of the firm’s strategic plan and for new business initiatives.

FBR Capital Markets has a very strong Board of Directors that includes, in addition to Mr. Billings and Mr. Hendrix, two Managing Directors of Crestview Partners, which is a strategic investor in FBR Capital Markets.  The seven outside directors on the nine-member board are:
  • Andrew M. Alper, Chairman and Managing Member of EQA Partners, LP, a commodity pool limited partnership, former President of New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, former Chairman of New York City’s Industrial Development Agency, and a former Goldman Sachs & Co. partner.
  • Richard M. DeMartini, a Managing Director and Partner of Crestview Partners, former President of Bank of America’s Asset Management Group, and former Chairman and CEO of the International Private Client Group at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
  • Thomas J. Hynes, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Meredith & Grew, Inc., a Boston-based real estate services firm, and a Director of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable.
  • Richard A. Kraemer, former Chairman of Saxon Capital, Inc., a publicly traded mortgage REIT, a Trustee of American Financial Realty Trust and a Director of the Urban Financial Group, Inc.
  • Thomas S. Murphy, Jr., a Managing Director of Crestview Partners and a former partner of Goldman Sachs & Co., where he co-founded and was Head of that firm’s Financial Sponsors Group.
  • Arthur J. Reimers, former partner in Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Investment Banking Division and currently an independent financial consultant.
  • John T. Wall, a Director of FBR Group, Chairman and CEO of Capital Markets Advisors, Inc., and former President of NASDAQ International.
